The development team for the Chevrolet Equinox carefully thought out every aspect of the vehicle to create a compact crossover that is resonating with national critics and customers all across Indiana. The team pushed for segment-leading fuel efficiency, more comfortable seats, a quiet cabin and plenty of functional storage space. An episode of “Oprah” even inspired the team to make sure a rear-vision camera was an available safety feature. The attention to detail is paying off. Equinox was a finalist for the North American Truck of the Year. U.S. sales for Equinox in January were up 76 percent compared to the same month a year ago. With the attention to detail and national awards garnering the Equinox so much attention there has been one drawback; it is hard to find stock of the vehicle. There is great news for anyone looking to buy an Equinox in the Indianapolis area however. Hare Chevrolet sells and stocks more Chevrolet Equinox than anyone else in Indianapolis! If you live in the Indianapolis area and what to see the Chevy Equinox in the "flesh" stop by Hare or schedule a test drive by calling 888-857-3785. For more on how the Equinox was developed, check out this Faces of GM profile on Whitney Krause, Assistant Program Manager for Chevrolet Equinox.
Getting Pre-Approved: Tips From Hare Chevrolet
Ever have an Indianapolis Chevrolet dealer ask what you can afford to spend when you’re looking for a new or used Chevrolet? What’s your price range? Many consider what they can afford to pay per month, but don’t look into how much they are qualified to borrow. When you compare Chevrolet Impala dealership sticker prices or lease agreements, do you know what your credit rating is or how it affects the process of getting that next vehicle? Could you borrow a bit more than you realized and adjust your budget or payment terms accordingly? It’s too easy to assume your credit rating is lower than it actually is, or that a few mistakes in the past might hurt your chances for getting a decent auto loan, but don’t count yourself out without getting pre-approved for a loan amount. Pre-approval means two things. The first is that you’ll know exactly what you can afford to buy based on the line of credit you’re offered. It also means that if you do have a credit issue, you can work out lending terms during the pre-approval process with the Indianapolis Chevrolet dealer and still be considered for a new or used car loan in many cases. Just because you’ve had issues in the past doesn’t necessarily make you a bad risk today. Don’t rule out getting into a reliable car; let the pre-approval process help you determine exactly what your buying power is.
Indianapolis area car dealer stocks award winning vehicles
Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com recognized three Hare Chevrolet vehicles as their 2010 Top 10 Family Cars, including Equinox, Suburban and Traverse. All 3 of these models are carried by your Indianapolis area Chevrolet dealer, Hare Chevrolet. The list represents the kbb.com editors’ recommendations for the best vehicles for families in Indiana, based on factors such as resale value, fuel efficiency, capability and kid-friendliness. "We have built our reputation on family values," stated Monica Peck, VP and 6th generation co-owner of Hare Chevrolet "for these vehicles to win family based awards means alot to us." "The factors Kelley Blue Book editors consider are in line with what we believe appeals to modern families who consider Chevrolet vehicles," says Jim Campbell, Chevrolet General Manager. "As such, it’s no coincidence that Equinox, Traverse, and Suburban assembly plants are all running overtime to keep up with customer demand." Courtney Cole, VP and co-owner of Hare Chevrolet, seconded Mr. Campbell's remarks, "We have had overwhelming reaction to all 3 of these vehicles. Since we are the number one Chevrolet dealer in Indiana it allows us to have more stock on these vehicles than most other Chevrolet dealerships in Indianapolis." Here’s what Kellley Blue Book’s kbb.com editors had to say about 3 of the vehicles in the Hare Chevrolet line-up: 2010 Chevrolet Traverse Indiana Boasting more cargo volume than even its Chevy Tahoe stablemate, the Traverse is the biggest crossover on the road -- yet it beats the fuel economy of many smaller three-row vehicles. We like both of the Traverse's siblings -- the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia -- but the Chevrolet’s lower starting price makes it our choice for families. 2010 Chevy Suburban Indiana Even when carrying nine passengers, the Chevy Suburban still offers a cavernous 45.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Still not enough? Hook up a trailer and the Suburban can tow up to 9,600 pounds. Beyond sheer size and strength, the Suburban delivers a comfortable ride and plenty of occupant-coddling niceties. 2010 Chevrolet Equinox Indiana In the highly populated crossover category, the Chevy Equinox stands out from the crowd as a vehicle that competently embodies function and form. In addition to an upscale interior and bold exterior styling, the Equinox is also able to achieve a class-leading 32 mpg on the highway (in four-cylinder form). Car Financing Tips from Hare Chevrolet
Car transactions are as diverse as the market. If you’re interested in buying a Chevrolet Impala, for example, you might choose to lease, buy new or look for a recently used model. In the same way good car buyers take a close look at the cars available from Indianapolis Chevrolet dealers, you should also consider your financing options just as carefully. Banks may offer similar financing terms, but you shouldn’t accept the first interest rate you get. When shopping for cars in the Indianapolis market, try some comparison shopping for interest rates and terms the same way you shop for the car itself. You may rely on your current bank for an auto loan, but when was the last time you compared financing terms? Find out what terms are available from Hare Chevrolet—can your bank offer the same deal? You’ll discover more competitive interest rates through comparison shopping—or at least find someone willing to work with you to get better terms. The right deal on interest rates, down payments or the length of the loan could give you some room in your monthly car budget. You should also compare the interest rates for buying to the terms of a Chevrolet Impala lease. Which is better? You might be surprised, depending on your needs and driving habits. When comparing terms, be sure to check three important areas—the interest rate, the length of the loan or lease agreement, and the size of your down payment. Larger down payments mean lower monthly payments for car purchases, and a shorter loan means less paid in interest. Any savings you can find will help your car budget. Could you get more car for your money with more competitive terms?

Things to Consider When Leasing at Hare Chevrolet
If you've never explored the option to have a Chevy Cobalt lease, you might be surprised to learn it can be a cost-effective alternative to financing. Many people in Indianapolis enjoy the convenience of a Chevy Cobalt lease (or any other make/model) for two important reasons. For those who dislike the hassle of selling or trading in a used car before getting into a new vehicle, leasing is perfect—once the lease is up, you turn in the vehicle and there are no hassles or haggling. The second convenience has to do with price and the ability to get into a better vehicle. If you financed your last used Chevy truck or car in Indiana and budgeted a set amount of money per month for the car payments, you might find that amount will go farther on a leased vehicle. For some, the savings is incentive enough; others turn that savings into leverage to get them into a newer or nicer vehicle. Consider this option when making your next budget, but be sure to calculate the cost of the lease, taxes, plus title and registration fees. Get the whole cost of the vehicle in black and white (including any down payment), then set aside the right amount in your new budget.
Leasing: An Alternative to Buying
If you're looking for a new or used vehicle in Indianapolis, there's an alternative to consider before you commit to your next purchase. Leasing is an excellent alternative to buying, and you may be able to get into a lower monthly payment than you would if you financed a used Chevy truck or car. There are many factors to consider when trying to decide if leasing is right for you. Just like buying a new or used car, your credit rating factors into a lease application. If you aren't sure about your credit, request a free copy of your credit report before starting the lease paperwork. You can always ask a loan officer which option— lease or financing—is more likely to be approved based on your credit score. If you decide to take advantage of a Chevy Cobalt lease or an agreement on a different type of vehicle, chances are good that you'll pay less up front than you would if you purchased the vehicle, but make sure you read the terms of your lease agreement carefully before signing. What are the rules about early termination of your contract? Will you have to pay a penalty if you are forced to cancel? In the worst days of the recession there were job loss clauses in many contracts—ask the dealer what job loss protections might be available. Leasing can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing—make sure you understand the terms of your agreement and you could be on the road for less in no time.
Hare Chevrolet Gives Alternative Fuel Options
Over the past few years, more people are interested in alternative fuel cars. Alternative fuel-powered vehicles have been slow to enter the market place, so I’ve put together this brief list of the different types that are available now, and what is being researched. Hybrid (electric) and ethanol are the two most popular types of alternative fuel used in the past few years. Ethanol is made from sugar cane or corn, and some vehicles sold today can run on a gasoline/ethanol mixture. One of the big drawbacks to using ethanol is that it is not as fuel efficient as gasoline and can cost more per gallon. Hybrid cars and trucks use both electricity and gasoline to reduce their environmental impact, and are currently available at your Indiana Chevrolet dealerships. In 2010 Hare will bring to Indianapolis the Chevy Volt. The Volt is an electric car that can create its own electricity. It can run on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles — gas and emissions free. After that, Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas. Another type of alternative fuel being researched is hydrogen. Most of the research being done is how hydrogen fuel cells could power a car or truck. A car running on hydrogen alone would produce no emissions, just water vapor. Most Indianapolis residents are trying to do their part to reduce their impact on the environment, and Hare Chevrolet is no exception. We look forward to bringing you more information about alternative fuels as it comes available, and always carrying the latest auto technology at our Indianapolis Chevy dealership.
Hare Chevrolet Gives Test Drive Tips
Going on a test drive when you’re buying a new or used Chevy is one of the most important steps in the buying process. It helps you to determine whether or not the vehicle that you are interested is an appropriate fit for your driving style and needs. I've put together a list of things you should do while test driving your next Chevy. You’ll be better to determine which car or truck is right for you when you know what you need before you even set foot on any Indiana Chevy dealership lot. For example, if have a long commute, good gas mileage is probably something you’re looking for. If you have kids, a backseat big enough for child seats may be important. Make sure you are comfortable in the Chevy. You should be able to get in and out of the vehicle easily, the seatbelt should fit well, you need to have plenty of leg and head room, and it’s important that you can reach the controls easily. While on your test drive, drive the Chevy just like you would if you owned it. If you drive on the highway a lot, ask if you can drive it somewhere at highway speeds. If you live somewhere with a lot of hills or curvy roads, make sure it handles well on similar roads. Our Indianapolis Chevy dealership staff goes on test drives to help our dealer customers make sure they find the right Chevrolet for you and your family. Car Seat Answers From Hare Chevrolet
A lot of our Indiana Chevy dealership customers have young children, whom they chauffeur around town on a daily basis. Since this is so common for our customers, I thought I’d pull together a few resources to help clarify which types of car seats and for what different children’s ages our customers should be using. Infants should be sitting in a rear-facing infant seat until their 1st birthday and they weigh at least 20 pounds. Toddlers should move into a rear-facing child seat until they outgrow the height and weight requirements, and then should move into a forward-facing car seat with a full harness until they become too big to fit. Once your child outgrows their car seat, they should be placed in a booster seat until they fit properly into a regular seat belt, which typically happens somewhere between the ages of 8 and 12. Children under the age of 13 should remain seated in the back seat of your Chevrolet even after they grow too big for a booster seat. Child safety is extremely important to Hare Auto, so if you have any questions about how to properly use or set up child safety seats, contact our Indianapolis Chevy dealership. You can also visit our Chevrolet website, or call us at 888-827-0711.
