A lot of our Indiana Chevy dealership<\/a> customers have young children, whom they chauffeur around town on a daily basis.\u00a0 Since this is so common for our customers, I thought I\u2019d pull together a few resources to help clarify which types of car seats and for what different children\u2019s ages our customers should be using.<\/p>\n

Infants should be sitting in a rear-facing infant seat until their 1st birthday and they weigh at least 20 pounds.\u00a0 Toddlers should move into a rear-facing child seat until they outgrow the height and weight requirements, and then should move into a forward-facing car seat with a full harness until they become too big to fit.<\/p>\n

Once your child outgrows their car seat, they should be placed in a booster seat until they fit properly into a regular seat belt, which typically happens somewhere between the ages of 8 and 12.\u00a0 Children under the age of 13 should remain seated in the back seat of your Chevrolet even after they grow too big for a booster seat.<\/p>\n
